I have been a manager in a major multinational company for longer than I care to remember. I have seen many attempts to change performance and reward systems to try to drive the company forward. I’m yet to see one that actually works as intended!
A recent change of role allowed me to look outside of the corporate envelope, to try to understand more about individual motivation. I stumbled across work by Dan Pink, which has finally allowed me to understand why the tools that I’ve been asked to use to manage my team’s performance are unlikely to have the positive impact that they were designed for.
What I hope that you get from my blog, is the inspiration to change the way that you manage your employees, to improve the performance of your business.
